By the 3rd day, we pretty much knew where everything was and how to get around. We ate at the Chill Out bar on our 2nd night so that we could use the beach area at the Chill Out section. You get the same nice chairs as the Platinum area, but there was always a nice breeze that came through in Chill Out that you didn't get in the Platinum area. Our favorite thing to eat were the street tacos at the pool at lunchtime. maybe in the upgrade restaurants have a better selection, but it was pretty bad, and we girls like our wine at dinner Your mini fridge will have 2 beers, 2 club sodas, 3 waters, 1 pepsi, 1 pepsi lite, 1 miranda (orange soda) and 1 7-up.They changed each day as to what kind of meat, fish or chicken, so it was always a nice surprise. we spent a rainy morning there relaxingmini fridge had water and soda and like gatorade. As for beach this resort has its own beach front with a bar message tables and beach games.

We mainly stayed in our own private pool at the Lagoona Villa Suites, playa is about a 10-15 min car ride depending on the driver so as for it being 3 miles away don't think that's accurate. What will be the difference in my two experiences of the resort?

Seriously the walking isn't that bad if you have small children I can understand the complaints but they do they shuttles.

Another down fall I didn't read about were their raccoon like animals that just chill by the pools and beach trying to steal food. Be aware...do try to upsell a vacation club package at this resort. We felt it is more economical to travel through Cheap Caribbean when we want to go to this resort rather than buy into their club. The food was just okay, I've had much better at other resorts. It took me a bit to figure out what to order without the drinks having an after taste.

We had a basic room and we could go to the Mexican, Asian, Grill, Italian, fondue and Tapas (adults only)The Chill out is extra for everyone and the seafood restaurant is for rooms above a jr suite. Most people were not tipping, but if you are at a certain bar a lot, maybe a good idea.

The resort is located on a palm-lined beach in the Mayan Riviera.

if you feel like you have received exemplary service I am sure a small discreet tip would be appreciated.buffet and ala carte restaurants both but 2 of those 9 require extra fee. We did not get a chance to eat there because it was booked solid our whole trip.
